We are a new lab, that means we are recruiting! We can't wait to fill our lab with a team of talented and dedicated professionals who are passionate about what they do.

Our work is highly interdisciplinary and we welcome people from diverse academic backgrounds including – but not limited to – neurobiology, cell & molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics and computational biology. Get in touch (kif.liakath-ali /at/ soton.ac.uk) by sending your CV and a brief statement describing your research interest and experience and reasons for joining the Splice Lab. Please note that we will not be replying to generic emails.

Below are the range of positions we are looking to fill in coming months. Informal enquiries are encouraged well in advance before funding deadlines to discuss your interest.

Postdoctoral fellows: Project-funded positions will be advertised in jobs.ac.uk and southampton.ac.uk websites. Informal enquiries are welcome from potential candidates who wish to apply for external funding such as EMBO, Marie Curie, Human Frontier Science Program fellowships etc.

PhD Students: We usually advertise fully-funded PhD positions in findaphd.com website. However, enquiries are welcome throughout the year from highly motivated candidates who wish to apply for scholarships from government agencies and other organisations. We also highly recommend MRes route for potential students who are interested to pursue a long-term project that extends to their PhD and result in a high-impact research output.

Technician/Research Assistants: These positions are advertised in jobs.ac.uk and southampton.ac.uk websites

MRes Project Students: We currently have an openining for a computer science student with an interest in biology or a bioscience student with computational coding skills.

Summer Research Fellowships: Undergraduate students are welcome to contact us to discuss their interest in visiting our lab as a summer intern well-in advance. Genetics Society, British Society for Cell Biology and Biochemical Society offer generous stipend for summer training. Deadline to apply these usually during Jan-March of every year.
